Paragon Community Housing Group has been shortlisted from more than 250 entries to the 2010 UK Housing Awards. These awards are now in their 14th year and recognise outstanding work in housing which improves the lives of people in their communities.
Paragon is now one of six left in the running for the Involving and Empowering Communities award. This award recognises organisations that have empowered their residents to be involved in the management of their housing. In particular it highlights those that have put accountability to residents at the heart of their organisation by involving them in scrutinising their performance. The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in November.
Lisa Power, Marketing & Communications Manager at Paragon Community Housing Group said: “This is the first time that we, as a Group, have been nominated for such an award and we are delighted to have been shortlisted for our Menu of Involvement. By involving our residents, we improve the effectiveness with which our housing services are delivered while bringing benefits of new skills and increased confidence to them. Their involvement is a core component of helping to ensure that our neighbourhoods and communities are places where people want to live, now and in the future.”
