Planning Permission Secured For New Bungalows

Maidstone Housing Trust has been granted planning permission to develop eighteen 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows for older people. The contemporary scheme will address the urgent local demand for bungalows at a site in Longshaw Road in the Park Wood area of the town.

The state of the art homes will meet and exceed current accessibility and environmental standards, offering residents a comfortable, secure community close to existing local facilities and amenities.

The Trust’s development team are keen to maintain and improve the natural environment on the site, which was formerly a local bowling green. The development plans include planting new trees and hedgerows to create wildlife habitats, as well as landscaped gardens for the residents to enjoy.

The development of new bungalows continues significant investment by Maidstone Housing Trust in the Park Wood area. The Trust has recently completed a £24m regeneration scheme in nearby Bell Road, and created twenty seven family homes on small underused sites around the estate. The Trust is also committed to community development and is working closely with partners to improve facilities and opportunities for all local people.
